Places
Nicest Beach nobody knows about. (Just West of Coakley Bay Beach)
Let's face it, the Coakley Bay Beach (right across from the condos) is not the the sandiest.....it has rocks and urchins....better for snorkeling than sunning. Luckily there is an alternative an easy walk away...the next beach over. It is 1 minute by car, or 10 minutes to walk. It is the beach you see when you look out from the condo's porch. From the entrances to Carden Beach Condos and Coakley Bay Condos (they're at the same place on opposite sides of the East End Road) start West back towards Christiansted. Go past the Gated entrance to the Coakley Bay Plantation. In about 500 feet you'll see the next right. It is a dirt road--take it. Drive in to the end of the road...the beach is long, curving, protected, and toward the point there are white sand entry points. A lot of parasailers know about this one and use it. It is just like the picture books.

Nice day trip. (To Fredericksted the Good Way.)
Drive the road through the rain forest (not the "scenic" jeep trail unless you actually have a jeep or 4-wheel). End up in Fredericksted and look around. Eat lunch or dinner at the Sunset Grill -- right on the water outside of town. Sit at a table on the beach. Do it on a Friday and there's a jazz concert at the waterfront in the early evening. Enjoy the pier.

Nice boat ride/snorkel
Go to Buck Island....everyone does. Try for a day when the water is calm. Call each day, ask the captain whether the water is clear or turgid that day. When its clear...go.
For a Two Nice Drives to the Desert and Beyond
Drive out to Point Udall. All the way to the end on the East End. You are in a desert....nice cactus. Natural beauty. If you're hardy...there are hiking trails. Enjoy the CIA's big secret dish on the way.
Southside road. If you went out to Point Udall, just go back around the Southside Road. Otherwise, Drive across the island to the Southside at mid island (near the refinery and Sunny Isles shopping center, go South. Then stay on the shore road all the way until you get to the Casino (and a few miles beyond) Perhaps one of the most beautiful stretches of beach and roads in the world.

Interesting people if you need help.
Kevin Rames and his wife Jan -- law office in Christiansted.
Joel Holt, also an attorney.
Diana Robinson at Paradise Properties in Christiansted.
Goofy things nobody in their right mind would do….that We Like
(All located the Schooner Bay/Gallows Bay -- which are just outside of Christiansted)
In Gallows Bay there is a coffee shop next to the bookstore-- across from the hardware store. The shop has bagels, coffee and great Slurpees and Shakes. You can sit and watch CNN, or surf the internet....Also wireless access if you have 802.11b (We love going into the hardware store too.) The book store will trade used books with you. The hardware store has everything. The Post Office is on the other side of the street. Also, Schooner Bay Market -- for gourmet foods and good wines. Like Citarellas only little.
Best cheap thrill that ain't cheap.
From either F-sted or C-sted, take the Seaplane to PR or St. Thomas for a day or half-day trip. The fun is in the ride.
The take-offs and landings are a trip. Ask for the local rate.
Have a good time! Wear sunscreen.
